Week 1
There
are two cultures inside the UCLA campus: the north campus and the south campus.
The north is the beautiful campus, where people write essays for their grades.
The south-campus students study engineer and math, and their grades are
determined by exam scores. I am a second-year applied math major, and I feel
that there exists a culture between them. For example, I took English composition,
history, and art classes though I am a math major.
The
reading materials and lecture videos show me connections that I never thought before.
The two cultures idea was interesting and I enjoy learning this week’s
materials.
